H ere is a visualization you can try prior to bedtime to help you drop into your body. Or, perhaps during the day whenever you are over- thinking and your mind is mentally flooded.
Make sure you are alone and do not have to attend to anything or anyone. It should only take a few minutes, but you can make it last longer if you like by going through the visualization at a slower pace.
Imagine that you are in an elevator on the top floor of a very tall building. Now visualize yourself standing in the elevator and it is quiet and you are alone.
Next visualize the elevator as it moves down slowly from floor to floor. As the elevator descends from floor to floor feel the sensation of dropping in your body.
The sensation can just feel like a warm wave going through you. As you feel this sensation in your body it starts at the top of your head. Now imagine the sensation moving down through your neck, your chest, then your stomach, pelvis, knees, and ankles until it reaches the bottom of your feet.
You have arrived at the bottom floor of the building and you feel your feet heavy and warm. At the same time your thoughts and mental overload has lighten and minimize and now there is a focus and a stronger connection with the bottom of your feet. Your energy has literally moved down through your body allowing your mind to relax.
